Five piano lessons of 30 minutes for one school age child – a starter course for piano.
A fun introduction for a school age child to piano, keyboards and music. In these sessions, they will get to know the basics of piano playing, and also how to both learn classical ideas and also how to practically understand the layout of the piano and what they can do with it independently. They will play from a variety of books, and will choose one they prefer during the course. Jane takes great care to ensure that a child’s natural skills and abilities, such as left and right handedness and playing by ear are utilised during the course. Open to all from 5-16 years.
Lessons take place in a colourful and professional studio environment. Participants get a chance to try a variety of ways of piano playing. During these sessions, they will learn how to play some tunes they know and like or make their own music. As a result, Jane builds sessions around their music tastes, with the focus being on creativity. She can also record students.
This course caters for one school age child – other sessions are available for two or three. Because this course is personally tailored to the participant, the five sessions can be spaced weekly.
Sessions are of a 30 minute duration and we try to be as flexible as we can with regards to dates.
Organised and carried out by PGCE trained teacher with DBS. Jane Lane is also a songwriter and composer.
